Goreville Schools will be in session on Thursday, March 12, 2026. A fan bus will be provided for students in grades 6–12, pending the availability of a chaperone.
Any student in grades K–12 who attends the State Finals games will be excused from school.

Goreville Schools is offering an adult fan bus for the Jacksonville Super-Sectional game. The bus will depart the high school at 2:30pm on Monday, March 9th, 2026. It will return immediately following the game. In order to have the bus we need a minimum of 20 adults to sign up by 7pm on Sunday, March 8th, 2026.

Please fill out form to ride the Student Fan Bus. It will leave at 2:30pm on Monday, March 9th, 2026 from the high school parking lot. Goreville Students 4th-12th grades are eligible to ride the bus if in good standing. The bus will return immediately following the game. Students need to sign up by 7pm, Sunday March 8th.

Goreville Schools will have a 11:30am dismissal on Monday March 9th, 2026 so people can attend the Super-Sectional game in Jacksonville that evening. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause! There will be no AfterCats on Monday March 9th, 2026. Go Blackcats!

Today after school, one of our buses was stopped by our School Resource Officer, Officer McCurdy, after the driver had completed a student drop-off without activating the required safety lights. Officer McCurdy responded quickly by safely blocking traffic and pulling the bus over to address the situation and reinforce proper safety protocols.

Sixth grade students: Emma Haas, Violet Hepp, Kellan Jones, and Wyatt Teas took home first place at the 2026 ROE 21 Brain Games. They competed against 16 other teams in a variety of competitions like math, spelling, trivia, and more. They will now represent Goreville Schools at the regional competition this April. #BlackcatPride
